Wicked

Zac is so hard to buy for. I think it is because he is so selfless, he never asks for anything! I introduced him to Wicked, the musical when he got home from his mission and he fell in love with it! So for Christmas, I had the genius idea to buy him Wicked tickets since we were going to California anyways to spend some time with my family down in Newport. Wicked was playing in San Fransisco so with the help of my dad I bought the tickets and booked hotels! I tried so hard so hard to keep it a secret and it worked!! On Wednesday, the 16th, Zac finished his last final. He came home to the Emerald City!

He was so surprised! It was awesome! When I gave him the tickets, which I had wrapped up, he was confused. He opened them and still was confused, but then I told him the plans: how we were going to leave for CA on Friday; drive to Reno to stay over night, then drive to San Fransisco to see the show, then drive to Sunnyvale, just south of San Fransisco to stay overnight. The next day, Sunday, we would drive down to Newport Beach to see my family. Zac couldn't stop smiling. It was the best!

The trip was fantastic. We felt like we were in the car a ton!

We stayed at the Atlantis in Reno. It was interesting. It was a huge casino. Lots of gambling and drunk people. :) We were going to go swimming but it costs extra to use the pool, so we decided against that. We went to AppleBee's and got some dinner. Our waitress was amazing. She was one of the best waitresses I had ever had! The food was yummy too! We then spent the evening watching the Santa Clause 1 and 2 in our room. It was a good night!

Then we hopped in the car and headed towards San Fransisco. Once we got there we parked in this awesome parking garage that was close to the theater. We then walked around a little. We walked down to the Bay Bridge and Fisherman's Warf.

I found a friend!

So did Zac, although his wasn't as nice. A seagull pooped on his leg!

We had a sourdough bread bowl and clam chowder! It's a San Fransisco classic!

Then we went to the show!! It was amazing. I had seen it once before in SLC. Glinda was amazing! Elphaba was not as good, which was disappointing. She said all her lines with a shaky, emotional voice, like she was always on the brink of tears. It was almost awkward at times! :/ but it was still fantastic!

It was an awesome trip...almost a second Honeymoon! We made it to Newport Beach and got to spend the next few days with my family.
